What Are the Goals of a Pi Day Party?
The goals of our event are:
- To connect the words MATH and FUN!! It's a PARTY after all! :)
- Spark genuine curiosity about math — at every age.
Our activities help learners discover the fun in problem-solving through hands-on, memorable experiences. - Connect math to real-life learning.
We offer creative, cross-subject activities that show how math shows up in cooking, music, art, building, storytelling, nature… everywhere! - Build strong logical-thinking skills in a playful environment.
Through games, puzzles, challenges, and interactive stations, students experience how logical thinking strengthens confidence and opens the door to countless careers and life skills. - Empower and support home-educating parents.
Parents receive practical tools, simple strategies, and encouragement to make math learning at home feel less intimidating and more enjoyable.
Regarding this: we focus on helping home-educators, so this is an essential goal for us. However, you may have a different goal, that better matches who is participating in your party. Whether your event is for a group of friends, members of a church, or a group from a school, make a goal that fits that group.
When and How do we Prepare?
ASAP:
- Reserve the Date at the Hosting Location.
- Start talking with potential teachers, sponsors, and members of your leadership team.
- Schedule someone to provide security.
In January:
- Get the required event insurance.
- Solidify who will teach what ages, what local businesses can sponsor the event, and who on your leadership team can help with what tasks.

Can I Have an Event that is Truly for All Ages?
Yes!
Our event is for home-educating families, which means that kids of ALL ages can participate.
We have . . .
- exciting lessons for teenagers led by teachers such as a chemist, a physician, and a banker
- energizing activities for kids with money-counting, science explorations, and nature observations, and
- captivating explorations for the youngest among us including a mommy-and-me group.
You also can have an event like this, with winning activities for kids of all ages!
Who Will Teach at This Event?
Your community has many professionals who use math every day, and would be delighted to volunteer to teach, helping kids understand how important math is.
Finding them takes time, but they can be found!

What Does A Typical Pi Day Party Look Like?
A full day of Pi Day fun runs from 9:00—2:45 and includes the following:
- Fun Gathering Time
- Age-groups rotate through 4 excellent teachers, about 45 minutes per teacher
- Picnic lunchtime
- Math Scavenger Hunt, with teenagers leading teams with younger kids (get our packet to find out how to have a great fun scavenger hunt!)
- Door Prizes—EVERY kid gets a fun door prize, thanks to the generosity of sponsors
- Celebrate the day by Eating Pie — of course!
